| “The First International Congress of Parapsychology” On Monday, July 23rd, 2007, the Foundation’s own Dr. Carlos S. Alvarado gave an evening Lyceum Lecture that focused on the International Congress of Parapsychological Studies, which was sponsored by the Parapsychology Foundation and held in Utrecht, the Netherlands in 1953. Dr. Alvarado’s presentation — which included photographs and other materials from the Foundation’s archives — covered the planning, execution, presenters and topics at this ground-breaking conference, characterized by some as setting the agenda for the field for the 50 years that followed.
