Dr. Bender has written on a wide range of subjects in the field of parapsychology, including extrasensory perception, psychokinesis, poltergeists, mediumship, spontaneous phenomena and spiritual healing. His books include Psychische Automatismen: Zur Experimentalpsychologie des Unterbewussten und der Aussersinnlichen Wahrnehmung (Mental Automatisms: An Experimental Contribution to the Psychology of Subconscious Processes and ESP; 1936); Zum Problem der Aussersinnlichen Wahrnehmung (A Contribution to the Problem of ESP; 1936); Parapsychologie - Ihre Ergebnisse und Probleme (Parapsychology - Results and Problems; 1953). He has also translated William McDougall's (q.v.) Energies of Men (Aufbaukräfte der Seele; 1937) and G.N.M. Tyrrell's (q.v.) Personality of Man (Mensch und Welt in der Parapsychologie; 1960), and contributed the section "Zur Entwicklung der Parapsychologie von 1930-1950" ("The Development of Parapsychology from 1930 to 1950") in Hans Driesch's (q.v.) book Parapsychologie (third ed., 1951).
