Member Royal Institution, London; member Society for Psychical Research since 1927, council member since 1943, organizing secretary, 1949-57.
Active for many years in the fields of psychical research and parapsychology, Mrs. Goldney assisted Dr. S. G. Soal (q.v.) in his investigation of the extrasensory powers of Basil Shackelton and Ieuan and Glyn Jones, and took part in investigations of Borley rectory with Harry Price. With Eric Dingwall and Trevor Hall (qq.v.), Mrs. Goldney is co-author of the book The Haunting of Borley Rectory (1956), which questions phenomena earlier reported by Price as having occurred at the Sussex rectory.
Mrs. Goldney's articles in the Proceedings of the SPR include: "A Preliminary Investigation of the Platform Clairvoyant Mrs. Helen Hughes" (Vol. 45, 1939); "Report on a Series of Experiments" (with Mrs. Eileen Garrett, q.v.; Vol. 45, 1939); "Experiments in Precognition Telepathy" (with S.
